The heart of stone

The secret of Stoneleigh

Stoneleigh takes its name from the ancient river stones scattered at the foot of its vines. The stones act like a natural heat conductor and during the day they are warmed by the sun and at night they release their heat into the vines, helping to ripen the grapes and intensify their flavour. This natural phenomenon, coupled with free-draining stony soils creates the wines that are served in many place around the world.

Hopefully it all goes ahead and i can finally enjoy going out and eating food with all my teeth in and none missing!!!!!!

I'm not a dieting person

As a general rule of thumb I am not a dieting person. I have tried half-heartedly in the past and whole-heartedly failed. I know dieters, thoght. Lord, who doesn't. Every Monday they convene in kitchens counrty wide, hyped up on blind faith, carrying their totems: plastic tubs of turkey breast, celery, protein powder chia seeds, calves tails gravel, anything that will, if they can endure it melt them away.

By about 11 am they are sad for having their grains and protein powders, and by 3 pm the people are wanting their fatty fast foods to make them feel happy and bubbly and more active within their world.

This flower resembles life and the choices we make either being dietry, friendships and the general well-being of every-one that we meet and enjot life with.

Everybody's Cup of Tea

We are reading about Tea being made in the Indian Hill station of Darjeeling. Michael Gebicki was talking in his article about staying in a hotel and on a plaque outside his room, it was named Princess of Siam., and next door to his room was the Chogyal of Sikkim. This was in the hotel named Hotel Windamere. I have also experienced the indian people staying in Australia and their culture is very different to ours both in beliefs and the way they carry out their celebrations.

Whilst staying in Darjeeling and in the hotel every breakfast time I was met by bowing waiters in hushed tones they were awed by my presence. Whilst in darjeeling reallity takes a break and I found whilst i was staying there, I came across Australians that were able to make a living whilst working there.

There are many different varieties of Darjeeling tea and these include English breakfast, Earl Grey tea, and many that I cannot remember. There are many ways to celebrate the drinking of tea but the most known celebration is High Tea with cakes and biscuits. High tea can be taken in the morning but is best known to be enjoyed in the afternoon around 3pm.

In the mornings I am woken by the sounds of bells coming from the temple that is shared by Hindus and Buddhists at the crown of Observatory Hil. I can also hear withinm the misty hills the sounds of bird calls, rushing water. I will always be thinking of drinking my cup of tea in my kitchen at home with the kettle bowling and children running around the house!!!!!!!

Longing for old friends

Its a famililiarity that takes years to generate. Lots of hanging out with bands of like-minded young souls with nowhere to be, conversations bleeding into the next day,
The unconscious audition process of our teens and 20s, as we decided who we dug ( and didn't) amassing a posse of loyal mates to stand by us into the future.
