Writing can actuality improve your health!

1. Writing can help clarify our thoughts.

My authors postulated that was because writing about key values make participants happy about key values make participants happier.

2. Writing can clear your mind.

I know that information is stored over there so I don't need to store that in my head, which means your brain can relax. Interestingly he says.. This is actually our brains way of trying to look after ourselves by aiming to remember everything. But we don't want to remember everything at night.

3. Writing can help you lose weight.

While the others gained weight.  The authors postulated that this was because writing  about key, values  made participants happier  And we all know the better you feel the less likely you are to turn to food for comfort.

4.  Writing can make you feel good.

People who blogged displayed better self esteem than those who didn't; they also fared better emotionally than those who write in a journal.  According to Adler, the added bonus of making you "feel heard " just as muscles need to warm up before exercise, your brain also needs time to warm up.

Dearest Michiko san,

This is super and I am so glad about point 3. I must be very happy than because I never gained any weight.
You do very well compared to the beginning after you accident. For sure you realize that too, but the hard part is to keep pushing and not giving up. Without losing patience!
Yes, for the brain this is great, the best exercise there is.
HUGS to you sweet friend and know that I'm very proud of you!

What an interesting post! It's great we can relax our brains by writing. It leads to good night sleep, which is nice. I had no idea it could help us lose weight. I have to write more :-)

I type a whole lot more than I 'write' so I'm hoping that has the same effect! I had a terrible time getting my last blog out. I like typing and pics and the pics were just not so easy for me to get this time...ah well, nothing ventured nothing gained right?

It was a real challenge to get today's post on as it has been for several days now. So I hope I sleep better tonight...lol
I've gained a little weight this week, but probably due to some Beer bread I made, so good...lol
This is some good info. And thanks for being my friend.

Sorry I haven't been around Michiko, but I don't seem to get any emails when people post, I was playing around and my dashboard came up with posts from long [almost] forgotten friends. I like the idea that writing helps you lose weight, I must flex my fingers and practice this lOL ake care.

Writing for me is like pulling teeth, it's so hard to get it out but once it comes and I finish I do feel better. Especially when writing a letter. Blogging I so wish I could be a better writer. If it weren't for my photos which also make me feel good my blog pages would be blank. No wonder I can't loose any weight while sitting here. Well I hope you have been enjoying your golf games and getting back into shape for your summer. Have a wonderful week. Hugs Carrie
