The little girls!

Raising a daughter seems so complicated. It scares me.

How could I possibly navigate the scary minefields of self esteem and eating disorders so prevalent in the lives of  girls

I have a very clear idea about the kind of men I'd like to raise I'm raising them to be kind and respectful.

Girls are strong-the ones I know seem to have been born with a great idea of who they are and it's up to the parents to figure it That I'll think they're an A when really they're a B.  Tears, slamming doors and the words "I hate you" will ensue.

View from my home behind the parks!.

That is so true Michiko! I only had 1 daughter and remember too well what it was like. Great blog!

I agree with your posts. Daughters are special and much more of a challenge to raise now then when my daughter was growing up.

Hugs,
Beth

Dearest Michiko-san,
This post made me think that how hard it would be for my mother to raise me p;)
I expressed my emotion directly to my late mother at times, I think.

頑固な所のある私を、受け止めてくれていた母に感謝の気持ちです。そちらは少し暑くなってきましたか。お元気で♬♬♬

Sending you lots of love and hugs to my Japanese friend in Australia, xoxo Miyako*

I've got two daughters, one graduates this year. It's not like there's never challenges but so far she's made me nothing but proud. Not easy days we live in but so far I've managed to keep the lines of communication open and will do my best before God to continue the trend.

Sounds like raising daughter is very challenging. But I guess it will be more fun when they grow up. I began to go shopping with my mom as I got older and it's always fun :-)

Dearest Michiko san,
Great subject and the environment that girls are growing up in nowadays is so different. It is a constant fight for upholding high morals and ethics and than the way beauty is perceived makes it unreal. But it is a market target and those young girls are most vulnerable.
Hugs to you,
Mariette

Blessings....
I often hear people make distinctions between raising girls and boys, i don't think there is much difference because its not about gender its about the human being, the child(ren), caring for them, teaching them right from wrong, how to manage their emotions, take responsibility for their actions, action and consequence, expressing love and believing in their selves. If we get that right, boy or girl, they'll be alright.

stay blessed.

Sis, I have always been grateful to have three sons. I wanted boys when I was pregnant. They were a joy to raise up to your men. :-) I was not too hard to raise up but I would not enjoy the challanges of raising a daughter now. :-)
